Can Perplexity replace Google?
For question-shaped searches, many people find it does. It's weaker for navigational searches where you just want a specific site, and for local results like maps and opening hours.
Does ChatGPT cite sources?
When it browses, yes. Without browsing it answers from the model, which is where unsourced errors creep in. Perplexity cites by default on every answer.
Is Perplexity worth paying for?
It depends on volume. The free tier limits advanced searches per day; if you hit that ceiling regularly, the subscription pays for itself in time saved verifying answers.
